The Lighthouse

… true Life begins with “your” Testimony

Your story can become God’s story:  how can your story become God’s story?

Life as we know begins with “birth”.  One source to learn about life and became the most distributed book in history is the Bible commonly known and called the Word of God. The written Word leads us to the Living Word: Jesus.

What is Life?  The Bible says … In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth (Genesis 1:1).  God said:  Let there be Light, and there was light (Genesis 1:3). The Bible tells us the beginning story about life. God said: Let us make man (mankind) in our image, after our likeness (Genesis 1:26). God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24).

The Bible or Word of God makes a significant claim in Romans 10:9-13 … if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  … for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Where does Life end or go from here?  The Bible says … The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place.  He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the Word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.  Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy and blessed are those who hear and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near (The Revelation to John:  Chapter 1:1-3).

Wow:  from the beginning in Genesis to the Revelation to John we find an amazing Word that should at least help us begin to ask questions and understand:  what does the Word of God, the Bible say about Life and where does my story become God’s story?

Purpose of this Website:  this website will be to encourage Disciples who desire to Make Disciples and understand that Discipleship will be more “caught” than “taught”.  This website seeks to be a Tool and Resource center for Disciples.  This website seeks to encourage all the parts of a Church to be working together collectively in the Lord to support and encourage a Disciple on their journey to Make Disciples.

Note:  Your input and feedback will help grow and keep this website current and can become “yourDiscipleship toolbox as you Go!

The Lighthouse Testimony:  this website will be a “living document” or testimony to what the Lord is doing in “hearts” collectively.

The Lighthouse story and website began when the Lord brought together two “brothers in Christ” in 1999 who came to know and receive Jesus as Lord of their life.

We believe the Lord honors our heart’s “choice” and “free will” to decide how we want to live our lives and sets this understanding of “freedom / right and wrong” inside us.  This website identifies four (4) Words or Terms used extensively in the Bible and again seeks to encourage you as a Disciple who desires to Make Disciples as you “go”.

Birth determines our true identity and begins our journey as a Disciple:  Thus the “birth” of The Lighthouse.

A Disciple will be born of the Spirit called or named the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in the Word of God:  the Bible.  The birth of a Disciple becomes a journey and not a destination.  A Disciple will have a testimony to share with others.

The Kingdom of God and also named the Kingdom of Heaven in the Word of God (the Bible) begins in hearts.  The birth of this website began around 1999 in two hearts.  The Lord works collectively and seldom in only one person except one:  Jesus.

The Word of God, the Bible, makes clear that “when” the trials and tribulations come that we are to be ready!  There is no fear in love:  God is love!

The Lord knows the plans for us and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11.  Our Father, God, will always work in the hearts of people who come together to seek the Lord in how to be a Disciple who desires to Make Disciples.  A Disciple will share God’s love as they live by Faith in Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Disciples can believe and trust God’s promises for their lives.  Our life roadmap becomes the Bible:  The Word of God.  The written Word will always lead us to the living Word:  Jesus.

The birth of this website came out of a heart to see the Truth from the Word of God guide our steps together “collectively”:  Life on Life as we Go and Make Disciples!

We know this calling of all Christians to be about the Great Commission to Go and Make Disciples.  We are ambassadors for Christ.

A prominent New Testament book tells us about the Testimony of John:

John 1:1-13 says:  In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him and without him was not anything made that was made.  In him was life and the life was the Light of men (mankind).  The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John (and insert the name of all true Christians here).  He came as a witness about the light, that all might believe through him.  He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the Light.

The true Light which gives light to everyone was coming into the world.  He was in the world and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.  He came to his own and his own people did not receive him.  But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor the will of man, but of God.  John 1:1-13.

The Lighthouse:

You are the “one” the Lord decided to love and use to share the Word of God and for your life to become a Testimony leading to fellowship 4Love:  we become a Lighthouse or testimony of Grace and Truth.  We need each other to stay encouraged and collectively work together as the “church”.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says … Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has passed away; behold, the new ha come.  All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.

Galatians 2:20 says … I have been crucified with Christ.  It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.  And the life I now live in the flesh I live by Faith in the Son of God.

How can we know Truth?  God will show you in a personal way, always!

  1. Light: God said:  let their be Light.  The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
  2. Lord: For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
  3. Life:  In Jesus was Life and the life was the light of men.  Jesus said:  I am the Way, and the Truth and the Life.
  4. Live:  I have been crucified with Christ.  It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.  And the Life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God.

Results in Fellowship 4Love

The promises of God, God’s grace and truth will always produce love.  God’s love flows out of a heart of gratitude based on what Jesus did on the cross for us personally.  The Kingdom of God begins in the heart as a new birth!  John 3:5 says … Jesus answered, truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

What is our purpose here?  Do all things to the Glory of God!  Remember the Goal:

1 Corinthians 10:31.

God is Love and God’s love never ends and lives forever!  A foundational promise of God.  We can have Eternal Life.  1 John 4:8.  By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.  And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the World.  Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.  So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us.  God is love and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 1 John 4:13-16.

What are we called to be doing?  God again made this very clear:  Go and Make Disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you:    Mathew 28:19-20

What is the starting point?  Birth.  We have a physical birth and we can have a spiritual Birth.  If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved:  Romans 10:13.

Remember the Goal:  do all things to the Glory of God!  1 Corinthians 10:31

Two Brother’s in Christ came together around December 1999.  We did not know the plans God had for us.  Our hearts came to realize that we had one common ministry as the Church:  Make Disciples.  The Lord started this website based on a new birth: a spiritual birth in us.

Lord, may this website be a Testimony and Living document as to what you show us as we:  Go and Make Disciples.

Lord, grow and move us forward to maturity in our Faith in Jesus Christ and build our understanding of God’s promises and grace and truth.

Lord, continue to build your Church, the King’s Way!  We desire to build the foundation on Jesus our Lord who became our Savior and walk together in love “collectively” as the Body and Bride of Christ, the Church.

Thank you Lord Jesus for showing us the Ministry of Reconciliation and entrusting us with the Message of Reconciliation.  2 Corinthians 5:16-21

Lord may we always remember Philippians 4:23:  I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Holy Spirit help us Live by Faith in Jesus:  Faithfully Available In Jesus to be and remain Teachable and Humble.

In Jesus name,

In Christ,

Thank you Father God:  God the Father

Thank you Lord Jesus:  God the Son

Thank you Holy Spirit:  God the Holy Spirit

The Lighthouse website seeks to focus on 3 things:

  1. Follow Jesus who is Lord:  I am the Way, the Truth and the Life:  John 14:6
  2. Live by Faith in Jesus:  Galatians 2:20
  3. Love Jesus and Love others collectively named the Church:  1 John 4:7-8

Faith in Jesus brings us to Love and Freedom in Christ. Galatians 2:20 says … I have been crucified with Christ who lives in me (The Lighthouse). And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

God’s story continues forever more (Eternal Life) …
